The Bowie State Bulldogs are riding high after a dominating win over their CIAA Southern Division nemesis and previous number 19 ranked Winston-Salem State Rams. The Bulldogs had lost the previous four meetings to the Rams including the two previous CIAA championships.
The Bulldogs now turn their attention to the Falcons of Saint Augustine's. The Falcons like the Rams, are a CIAA Southern Division rival. However, this will game counts as a conference contest. The Falcons are 0-2 on the season losing to Carson-Newman last week and Catawba College in week one. Despite the 0-2 Saint Augustine's record, the Bowie State can't sleep on the Falcons as they have the reigning CIAA Wide Receiver of the Week in senior Sam Boyd, who also was ranked the number two receiver in the CIAA by HBCUGameday.
The Bulldogs secondary is led by Pre-Season All-CIAA
Rahman Kamara who had three pass deflections at Winston-Salem State and hard hitting safety
Johnny Littlejohn, who has two interceptions on the season will be up for the task. The Bulldog defense is full of sure tacklers and ball-hawking defenders at every level.

The Bowie State offense is coming off an impressive performance in changing their style of play. The Bulldogs who are normally a pass-first team, showed they can win on the ground as well. The Bulldogs had an astounding 50 attempts on the ground and were led by senior
Robert Chesson who tallied 95 yards and scored two touchdowns. Chesson wasn't the only running back who contributed it was the whole group who calls themselves the "Mon-Stars" based off the movie space Jam also impacted the game. The Bulldogs will make sure to keep an eye on week one CIAA Linebacker of the Week James Hickman.
The Bulldogs take on the Falcons at 1 p.m. Saturday in Raleigh (N.C.) to wrap up their three game road trip to start the season.
