Box Score 2 ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Friday's (4/6) doubleheader match at Elizabeth City State University was disappointing for Bowie State University as the Bulldogs dropped a pair of tennis matches by scores of 5-4 and 5-4.

In match one,
Kionza Allen and
Kamari Eason captured the win at No. 2 doubles, defeating ECSU's Jocelyn Lewis and TeNel Kearney 8-6. The Bowie State No. 1 duo of
Kayla Bridgett and
Madeleine Ndema lost by a score of 8-5 and BSU's
Jocelyn Williams along with
Bianca Tucker fell short, 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Bridgett fell in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets at No. 1 singles to Caroline Cowan. Bowie State's Ndema defeated ECSU's Lewis 7-5 and 6-0 at No. 2 singles. BSU's Allen and Eason won their respective No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches by identical 7-5, 6-2 scores. However, the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings (2-5, 2-5 CIAA and 2-1 North) won No. 5 and No. 6 singles by a score of 6-1 and 6-0.

Match two was a carbon copy of match one in terms of individual winners and losers with Bowie State's lone doubles win coming at No. 2 and picked up victories at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Bowie State's Allen and Eason knocked off Lewis and Kearney 9-8, winning the tie breaker by a score of 9-7.

Ndema, Allen and Eason claimed wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles by scores of 8-1, 8-2 and 8-6 respectively.

Bowie State (3-9, 1-9 CIAA, 0-5 North) women's tennis closes out the regular season at home on Sunday (April 9th), hosting Virginia Union at 1 p.m.
