Box Score 3 CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bowie State women's tennis recorded a 1-2 record over the weekend at a CIAA Round-Up hosted by Johnson C. Smith. The Bulldogs won its opening match over Livingstone by a score of 7-0 but fell short against Johnson C. Smith (4-0) and Winston-Salem State (4-0).

Kayla Bridgett (Upper Marlboro, Md.) won their matches by identical scores of 6-2, 6-2 respectively. Freshman
Tamia Byrom (Upper Marlboro, Md.) defeated Samone Mitchell 6-1, 6-5 at No. 3 singles. Freshman
Jatiya Stewart (Lanham, Md.) went three sets at No. 4 singles, defeating her opponent 6-2, 2-6 and 6-3. Junior
Kamari Eason (Oxon Hill, Md.) knocked off Livingstone's Jamyse Bell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and sophomore
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) swept Serenia Murdaugh 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the Bulldogs earned a 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles and swept Livingstone 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles respectively.
The Bulldogs will stop out of conference for its next match, traveling across town to take on Trinity (D.C.) University at 3 p.m.
