Bowie State Athletics, Zaronda Watson Mutually Agree to Part Ways

BOWIE, Md. – In a mutual decision, Bowie State University Athletics announced that Zaronda Watson is stepping down as the head coach for the women's volleyball program.

"After a discussion with Coach Watson we agreed that a coaching change was in the best interest for the women's volleyball program," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Clyde Doughty, Jr.

In four seasons as Bowie State's head coach, Watson compiled a 20-77 record and an All-CIAA Second Team and Rookie Team athlete in Neysha Washington (2019).

"Coach Watson has dedicated the past four years building the volleyball program.  She has performed admirably in providing quality support on and off the court to her student-athletes.  I wish her the very best in all of her future endeavors".

A national search will begin immediately.
