BOWIE, MD – Bowie State women's volleyball middle hitter Nina Edwards and right side hitter Nicole Taylor have been named to the 2025 All-CIAA Women's Volleyball Team, the conference announced Thursday evening at the CIAA Volleyball awards banquet hosted at Bowie State University.

Edwards earned the honor for the third consecutive season, becoming one of the most decorated players in program history, while Taylor captures her first career All-CIAA selection.

Edwards, a preseason All-CIAA pick, posted an exceptional year for the Bulldogs. She currently ranks second in the CIAA in hitting percentage (.374) and first in the conference in blocks, averaging 0.98 per set with 92 total blocks. Edwards also finished the regular season with 218 kills and 32 solo blocks, solidifying her position as one of the league's most dominant middle hitters. The Matthews, N.C., native earned CIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors in September.

Taylor, also a preseason All-CIAA choice, played a pivotal role on the right side for the Bulldogs. The Bowie, Md., native totaled 217 kills (2.11 per set), 55 blocks and 81 digs, while posting one of the top single-match performances in the league with a .650 hitting percentage (14 kills, 1 error) at Lincoln (PA). Taylor closed the regular season strong, highlighted by a 17-kill effort against Virginia State.

Together, Edwards and Taylor helped propel Bowie State to a 13–17 overall record and a 9–7 mark in CIAA play heading into the postseason.

The Bulldogs enter the CIAA Volleyball Championship as the No. 4 seed from the Northern Division and will face Southern Division No. 1 seed Winston-Salem State on Friday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup inside A.C. Jordan Arena.
