Lewis Records New Personal-Best at 34th Annual Don Cathcart Invitational

SALISBURY, Md. – The Bowie State men's and women's cross-country programs finished the 34th Annual Don Carthcart Invitational Saturday afternoon, marking fourth competition of the season. The Bulldogs women's team did not play but the Bulldogs men's squad finished 10th overall with 246 points.

Salisbury took home first place on both the men's and women's side. The Sea Gull women scored 38 points while Shenandoah (52) and Delaware State (90) placed second and third, respectively in the 6k race. The Sea Gull men finished with 22 total points in the men's 8k race while Mary Washington (74) and Wilmington (116) rounded out the top-three finishes.

Notable Highlights - Bowie State Men
The average time for the Bulldogs was 2:42.57 as a team with junior Eric Thomas-Talley (Richmond, VA) coming in 34th place overall with a time of 28:56.0 in the men's 8k race which gave BSU 30 points. Bowie State had four other runners finish top-60 during the meet.

Notable Highlights - Bowie State Women's
Freshman Destiny Lewis continues to be the lone spark for the Bowie State women's cross country program. The Huntingtown, Md., native finished 26:22.4, which set a new personal-best for the standout in the women's 6k race.
