BOWIE, Md. - Bowie State women's volleyball fell in three sets to the Virginia Union Panthers (11-9, 7-6 CIAA, Thursday night in Barco-Stevens Hall. The Bulldogs dropped the straight-sets by the scores of 18-25, 21-25 and 24-26.
BSU was led by graduate senior
Jailyn Ivey (Bowie, MD) with 16 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore
Regan Amos () and junior
Lindsey Grossman (Albany, OR) both finished with 13 and 11 assists, respectively. Additionally, sophomore
Dayanna Robb () added a career-high nine digs in the effort. Bowie State hit .104 compared VUU's .200, the Panthers held advantages in points (55-35), kills (42-32), aces (9-3), assists (38-30) and total digs (46-41).
The loss dips the Bulldogs overall record to 9-10, 5-8 in the CIAA and 2-5 in the Northern Division. Bowie State now stands in fifth place amongst the CIAA North.
Bowie State will return to action Monday, Oct. 24 when the Bulldogs host Shaw inside A.C. Jordan Arena. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
