RICHMOND, Va. – After going 2-2 during the opening day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up, the Bowie State women's bowling team finished third overall with a 9-3 record. The Bulldogs tallied 6605 total pins, including 3369 in the Bakers round for a combined 9974 pins on the three-day event.
Sophomore Chalia Gray (Glen Burnie, MD) led the Bulldogs (27-4) with an average of 182.00 - the events third-best with a total of 910 pins while senior Cayla Snowden (Parksville, MD) averaged 175.95 for fourth place and a total of 1263 pins in seven games. Joining Gray and Snowden in the top-16 group was graduate senior Takera Wigfall (Forestville, MD) at No. 8, senior Paris Anthony (Waldorf, MD) at No. 10, senior Taylor Harris (Stoughton, MA) at No. 12
Against Johnson C. Smith and Fayetteville State, the Bulldogs suffered losses 738-441 and 849-869.
BSU went 4-0 Day two of the round-up but in the Baker's – the Bulldogs won three-straight, defeating Shaw, Livingstone and Johnson C. Smith but falling to FSU 811-928.
Next up the Bulldogs will compete in the CIAA North/South Event III on Mar. 11-13 in Fayetteville, N.C.
