BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State women's tennis (1-1) will host the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up this weekend on the beautiful campus of Bowie State University beginning Friday, Mar. 18 through Saturday, Mar. 19 at the BSU tennis courts. The event is free and open to the public. Please note that there are no pets allowed at the facility.

Elizabeth City State, Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone, Shaw, Winston-Salem State, Virginia State and Virginia Union will join the Bulldogs in this weekend's round up.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-3 setback to Frostburg State on Wednesday. Bowie State picked up wins from freshman Kayla Lowery (Cleveland, OH) at the No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-2) while both sophomore Tamia Byrom (Upper Marlboro, MD) and sophomore Afruica Gentle (Georgetown, Ghana) posted three set wins at the No. 4 and 1 singles but the Bulldogs were unable to rally for the win.

Bowie State will take on Johnson C. Smith (1-0) and Livingstone (0-1) on Friday, Mar. 18 at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., followed by a meeting with Winston-Salem State and Shaw at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
