BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's volleyball team battled in a loss to Bluefield State Lady Blue's 3-1 (13-25, 16-25, 26-24, 7-25) Thursday at home inside A.C. Jordan Arena.
The loss dropped Bowie State's (0-4 North) record to 2-23 overall and 0-11 in CIAA action while the Lady Blue's (4-0 North) improve to 12-13 overall and 9-2 in the CIAA.
Madyson Brinson finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs offense while Tristynn Kerr and Mekenna Scott both tabbed six digs each, followed by five blocks from Nina Edwards to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-13. Bowie State trailed by as many as 13 points as Bluefield State never gave up the lead in a set that was notted up zero times before the Lady Blues took control.
SET 2 | Bowie State then lost the second set 25-16 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Bowie State trailed by as many as nine points as B-State grabbed the advantage for good at 16-15 in a set that was knotted up six times before the Lady Blue's took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | BSU fought back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Bulldogs came out on top of a close battle, winning 26-24 in a set that was tied eight times and had five lead changes.
SET 4 | Bowie State couldn't keep the rally going and fell in set four 25-7 to drop the match. The Bulldogs fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set.
