  • GW leads the all-time series 2-0, including the first meeting (107-67) that occcured on Nov. 30, 1985.
  • The last time these two teams met was during the 1982-83 season, BSU fell 102-51 on the road.
Last Time Out
Kyree Freeman-Davis scored a team-high 22 points but it would not be enough as the Bulldogs fell 82-67 to Claflin on the road last weekend. Amare Wimbush joined Freeman-Davis in double digit scoring, tacking on 11 points and two steals off of the bench and Caleb Johnson added six points, seven rebounds and six assists. Bowie State out-rebounded Claflin 38-35 in Saturday's game, paced by Johnson's seven boards. Bowie State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting six shots from deep to score 18 of its 35 points. The Bulldogs also pulled down 13 offensive rebounds and scored 12 second chance points. The Bulldogs defense had key moments, forcing 15 Claflin turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 22 points on the offensive end of the floor. Wimbush's two steals led the way individually for the Bulldogs.

BSU Against Non-Conference Opponents
Bowie State stands 4-5 overall through nine games this season. Against non-conference opponents, the Bulldogs are 4-4 (.500), coming off a gutsy home win over Shippensburg, 70-69 on Dec. 6. All of the Bowie State's losses to non-conference opponents were in single digits with the exception of the setbacks versus California (PA) and Felician that were at least 14 points or more.

A Look at George Washington
GW is 6-0 at home this season, earning wins over Stonehill (89-44), William & Mary (95-89), Hofstra (71-60), New Hampshire (79-67), Navy (79-77 OT), and most recently Coppin State (76-45). The 31-point margin of victory marked the game's largest lead in a contest that GW never trailed. The Revs held Coppin State to just 17 points in the opening 20 minutes, courtesy of a .211 field goal percentage allowed. For the game, GW held their guests to a lowly .260 mark. Three GW players scored in double figures led by Darren Buchanan, Jr. with 14 points. With an 8-2 overall record, GW averages nearly 82 points per game while holding its opponents to 73 points per game. The Revs two losses were against the UIC (89-79) and South Carolina (89-67). GW returns four players from a season ago while adding five transfers and six freshman. Chris Caputo is in his second season at helm of the program.
