Men's Basketball to Host Livingstone As Part of CIAA Doubleheader Televised on HBCU GO TV Saturday

BOWIE, MD -- Through a partnership between the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the Allen Media Group (AMG) free-streaming platform, HBCU Go, the leading media provider for the nation's 107 Historically Black Colleges & Universities, the Bowie State men's basketball will host Livingstone as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m., it will follow the women's game that will take place at 1:05 p.m. Both games will be available to watch live on Roku TV through the HBCUGo App or at www.HBCUGo.tv

The Series

The Last Whistle
BSU got a 27-point performance from the bench, but fell 76-55 to the Winston-Salem State Rams at home Thursday night inside A.C. Jordan Arena in CIAA cross division action. Joel Webb led the Bulldogs (4-7, 0-2 CIAA) with 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Caleb Johnson tacked on nine points and Anthony Carpenter chipped in as well with two points and four assists. Led by Webb's three offensive rebounds, Bowie State tacked on 10 boards that resulted in 11 second chance points. A notable highlight for BSU was points in the paint in which the Bulldogs scored 14 of its 28 points in the lane.

Livingstone
Coming off a 83-81 win over Virginia Union Thursday, the Blue Bears come to Bowie with some winning momentum led by a 35-point performance from Nathan Montaque who went 12-of-19 from the field, including 8-of-10 from the 3-point line. Pharoah Lassiter added 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field as both Montaque and Lassiter played 30 minutes each in the triumph win. With a 3-6 overall record and 1-1 mark in the CIAA, Livingstone averages 90.9 points while holding its opponents to 77.8 points, respectively. Lassiter is the team's top scorer, averaging 14.8 points while the team's top rebounder is Detionne Leach (4.2 rbg). The Blue Bears are coming off a 11-15 overall record and 7-10 mark in the league.
