WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Bowie State women's track and field opened the 2023 outdoor campaign at the Dan Stimson Memorial Meet where the Bulldogs had a host of athletes compete against William & Mary College and Virginia Commonwealth University Saturday. Several BSU athletes set PRs and garnered three top-3 finishes.

SPRINTS

• Fantasia Carney ran a time of 12.86 in the 100m and 200m (26.51) for eighth overall, setting a personal-best in both events.
• Agi Mboob finished ninth in the 100m at 12.95.

HURDLES

• Zahra Graham tabbed sixth in the 400m hurdles at 1:10.81 – a new PR.

DISTANCE

• Destiny Lewis ran a time of 2:39.68 in the 800m for 11^th overall.

JUMPS

• Graham earned a silver in the high jump with a mark of 1.46m.
• In the long jump, Graham placed fourth at 4.71m.

THROWS

• Jamesia Poindexter set a personal record in the shot put with a mark of 10.34m, the discus throw (21.53m) and the hammer throw (32.31m). She was third overall in the shot put and discus while in the hammer throw she finished fourth overall.
• Jazmyn McGrit earned fifth place in the hammer throw, setting a personal-best 29.47m.
• Mikel Lewis placed fourth in the shot, tossing a mark of 9.02.
