CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Bowie State track and field sophomore Jamesia Poindexter was recognized by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference as its Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday, Mar. 29.

The Bulldogs picked up its first weekly conference accolade for the first time in 2023. Poindexter battled to capture a personal record in the shot put with a mark of 10.34m, the discus throw (21.53m) and the hammer throw (32.31m). She was third overall in the shot put and discus while in the hammer throw she finished fourth overall.
