ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Freshman Yassine Kamara won the discus and freshman Jamesia Poindexter came out on top in the hammer throw to headline the day for Bowie State track and field at the Seahawk Invitational at St. Mary's.

SPRINTS
- Agi Mboob placed second in the 100m with a time of 12.84 while Fantasia Carney ran a time of 13.22 for fourth individually.
- In the 200m, both Carney (26.90) and Mboob (26.91) tabbed second and third, respectively.
- Catherine Enwereji finished second overall in the 400m race, posting a time of 1:02.39 while Heaven Jenkins finished top-10 at 1:08.08 for seventh overall.
DISTANCE
- Destiny Lewis finished fifth in the 800m at 2:35.56.
JUMPS
- Zahra Graham went 5.04m on her jump for third place in the long jump.
THROWS
- Kamara threw a mark of 36.75m in the discus to take home first place.
- Poindexter earned a gold medal in the hammer throw after tossing a throw of 36.05m.
- Jazmyn McGrit also tabbed fourth in the hammer throw (24.16m).
- Kamara, McGrit and Mikel Lewis all competed in the shot put, posting throws of 11.22m, 10.52m and 8.46m for second, third and fifth place respectively.
