BOWIE, MD - Lindsey George and Jayla Hill represented Bowie State softball on the 2023 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Team.

Sports iInformation Directors from NCAA Division II Atlantic Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month. The Atlantic Region consists of schools from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the PSAC, along with independents Bluefield State and Salem.

Both George and Hill were named Second Team All-Atlantic Region.

George, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Player of the Year and CIAA Tournament Most Valuable Player earned her first D2CAA All-Region award after an outstanding 2023 season. The Fayetteville, Ga.,was the top pitcher for BSU with an ERA of 3.27 (7th in CIAA) and a 16-8 overall record - the most in CIAA play. George combined for 120 strikeouts and one shutout victory in 138.0 innings of work. In the CIAA, George is fourth for runs scored (39), sixth in runs batted in (33), fifth in hits (44), fourth in home runs (7), third in "at-bats" (137). George is one the teams best hitters, averaging .321 with 42 RBI. 

Hill, the All-CIAA First honoree fit right in with the Bulldogs for 2023. The  Ruther Glen, Va., native closed out her sophomore campaign with rankings amongst the CIAA in runs batted in (42) CIAA-best including nine against Benedict (2/19), doubles (9) tied for 2nd, 53 hits (1st in CIAA), 40 runs scored (3rd in CIAA), 145 at-bats (2nd in CIAA), seven home runs (tied for 2nd in CIAA). She averaged .352 at the plate and has tallied 42 RBI which is a team-best, 10 doubles (team-best) and four triples (team-best). Defensively, at center field she has registered 49 putouts, seven assists and fielding percentage of .986.
