RICHMOND, VA --- Bowie State women's tennis defeated Virginia Union 5-2 Tuesday, Mar. 19 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Northern Divisional match-up at Byrd Park. 

The Bulldogs (2-3, 2-3 CIAA) dished out strong outings in singles competition leading off with Abner Dickson earning a 6-4, 6-0 win in singles No. 1, while Afruica Gentle took a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2, followed by Kayla Lowery picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 3 slot. Denaij Rose would give BSU its fourth-straight win in singles at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-1 win. 

The Lady Panthers (0-3) two points came from singles No. 5 and 6 singles in which Virginia Union won by default.
