The Short Story: The Bowie State women's outdoor track & field team won its first meet of the season with seven first place finishes at the Seahawk Invitational Saturday afternoon at Roberts Stadium. BSU tallied 142 points for the first place finish as a team while St. Mary's finished with 75 points for second and Gallaudet with 58 points for third place, respectively.
SPRINTS
- Iyanna Woody finished first place in the 400m (1:04.41) and Zahra Graham finished second overall at (1:04.67).
- Nya Exum finished third place in the 100m prelims (12.79) while in the 100m race, she posted at (12.62).
- Ashley Ayukegba, Kam'Ryn Fontaine, Fantasia Carney, Eajia Bonneville, and Zahra Graham, recorded top-10 finishes in the 200m race. Ayukegba (25.93) in second, Fontaine (25.99) in third, Carney (26.57) in sixth, Bonneville (27.49) in eighth, and Graham (28.05) finishing in ninth overall.
- Bowie State placed second in the 4x400 meter relay (4:26.36),made up Faulk,Lewis,Spriggs, and Fields (A-squad).
DISTANCE
- Mylah Faulk earned first place in the 800m race (2:25.90).
- Makayla Hill and Zynobia Ugbong, grabbed top-5 finishes in the 1500m race. Hill finished second overall (5:30.99) and Ugbong finished fourth overall (6:02.79).

- Yassine Kamara earned a pair of first place finishes in the shot put at 13.54m and in the discus throw (46.00m).
- Na'Shae Early finished first in the hammer throw at 35.86m and claimed the javelin throw first at 27.10m, while Mikel Lewis finished third overall at 21.23m.
