BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's bowling team heads to Mechanicsville, Va., to compete for the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference Bowling Championship on Saturday, Mar. 22 and Sunday, Mar. 23 held at the Bowlero. The Bulldogs aim to reclaim the championship title by dethroning defending champions Fayetteville State, who won it in back-to-back seasons.

About the Bulldogs
The Bowie State University women's bowling team had a stellar 2024-2025 season, finishing with an impressive 43-12 overall record and a dominant 42-3 mark in CIAA conference play. Led by standout student-athletes like TaVera Johnson and Janaye Monroe, the Bulldogs demonstrated their strength in several key events throughout the season.
In the CIAA North/South Event I, Bowie State secured decisive victories against Elizabeth City State University (821-607), Virginia State University (820-572), and Virginia Union University (803-657). They continued their winning streak at the CIAA North/South Event II, which took place in January, with strong performances against Virginia Union University (865-762), Virginia State University (765-619), and Elizabeth City State University (833-642).
As the season progressed, the Bulldogs maintained their dominance at the CIAA Event III last weekend, where they secured additional wins over the Trojans (765-688) and the Lady Vikings (730-582). The Bulldogs' consistent performances and outstanding conference record established Bowie State as winners of its 10th consecutive Northern Division title.
