Bowie State came up short against Virginia Union in a 4-3 loss during Tuesday's CIAA matchup at the BSU Athletics Tennis Court.
In doubles play,
Torrienne Emery and
Kayla Lowery dominated at No. 1 with a 6-0 win, but Virginia Union secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 and a default win at No. 3.
BSU excelled in singles, with Emery (6-2, 6-2), Lowery (6-4, 6-1), and
Nakari Blunt (6-0, 6-0) winning in straight sets. However, default losses at No. 5 and No. 6 gave Virginia Union the edge, sealing the 4-3 victory.
