BALTIMORE, MD — The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams delivered a solid showing at the Morgan State Legacy Meet this weekend, highlighted by an event title, multiple podium finishes and several top-10 performances. The Bowie State women finished 10th overall with 26 points, while the men tied for 13th with 17 points.
The Bulldogs were dominant in the throwing events, led by
Jaeden Warner, who captured the men's discus title with a throw of 50.17 meters. Warner also added a third-place finish in the shot put (15.03m), giving Bowie State valuable points in two events.
Warner led a strong group effort in the men's discus, where Bowie State placed four athletes in the top 10.
Parker McHeard finished eighth (42.13m), Khalil Brooks took ninth (41.29m) and
Brandon Freeman placed 10th (41.13m). Brooks also contributed a ninth-place finish in the shot put (13.52m).
On the women's side, the throws unit continued to lead the way.
Breanna Reid earned a third-place finish in the discus with a mark of 41.80 meters, while
Tatiyana Black followed in fourth (39.90m).
Jazmyne McGirt added another podium performance, placing third in the shot put (12.28m), while Black secured a seventh-place finish (10.90m).
On the track, senior
Emetem Bezezuh turned in one of the top performances of the meet, placing fifth in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.51. She also competed in the 800 meters, finishing just outside the top 10 in 13th (2:20.37). Freshman
Ugonna Ibegwam added a 16th-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the field events,
Anijah Medley recorded an eighth-place finish in the women's triple jump (11.32m). The women's 4x100-meter relay team also contributed points with a seventh-place finish in 48.63.

The Bulldogs will return to action next week competing in the Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa., from Thursday, Apr. 23 through Saturday, Apr. 25.
