Women's Cross Country Bowie State Sports Information

BOWIE STATE LADY BULLDOGS PLACE 11th OVERALL AT HBCU CLASSIC

(CARY, N.C.)  The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs cross country team placed 11th overall out of 17 HBCU schools at the Great American Cross Country Festival. Bowie State totaled 284 points.  Hampton University won the women's division 5K run with 29 points, followed by CIAA foe Winston-Salem State University in second (92 points) and N.C. Central University was third (106 points).

Lady Bulldogs' sophomore led the way for Bowie State, placing 38th with a time of 21:52.8.  Senior Shayla Davis came in 46th place (22:16.3) and freshman Tori Lewis-Johnson crossed the finish line in 54th (22:48.4).  Freshman Nikole Baker placed 70th overall (23:57.8) and sophomore Vernese Thomas-Quickly rounded out the BSU scorers in 76th place (24:41.5).
