(NEW ORLEANS, La.) The Bowie State Bulldogs rank 7th in the latest United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll released Monday with a total of 136.51.

In their last event at the Virginia Tech Challenge, the men's 4x400 Meter Relay team placed 4th with a time of 3:23.73. Senior
William Bailey led the Bowie State men overall, placing 2nd in the Long Jump (6.98m). Fellow senior
Demetrius Barkley finished 5th in the 60 Meter Hurdles (8.23) and sophomore
Alonzo Williams ran a time of 8.27 in the same event.
Sophomore
Jonathan Harper jumped 1.95m in the High Jump to place 5th. Sophomore
Bryan Williams finished 3rd in the Triple Jump (15.11m) and placed 15th in the Long Jump (5.58m). Senior
Collin Cumberbatch placed 8th overall in the Shot Put (14.15m).
Junior
Dana Smothers was a 12th place finisher in the 400 Meter Dash (49.65) and sophomore teammate
Wendell Felder competed in the 800 Meter Run, finishing 17th with a time of 1:59.17.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will await the selections for the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championships on March 5th.
