CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bowie State's
Dareon Faircloth has been named CIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Faircloth turned in another standout performance at the Marlin Invitational on Jan. 30 in Virginia Beach, Va., posting top finishes in both sprint events. He placed second in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 6.88 after winning the preliminary round in 6.89. The Chesapeake, Va., native followed with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash, clocking 21.78 to establish a new HBCU No. 44 all-time mark.
The honor marks Faircloth's second CIAA Track Athlete of the Week award this season and the third weekly conference honor overall for head coach
Pamela Crockett during the 2025–26 indoor campaign.
The Bulldogs are prepping for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15, through Monday, Feb. 16, at the Tryon International Center in Mill Spring, N.C.
