MILL SPRING, N.C. – The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams delivered several standout performances at the 2026 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Tryon International Center, highlighted by multiple event victories, podium finishes, and nationally ranked HBCU and Division II marks.
Collectively, the Bulldogs totaled several podium appearances over the two-day championship. The Bowie State men's team finished seventh overall with 45.5 points, while the women's team placed eighth with 14 points, closing out the indoor season with momentum on the conference stage.
Sprints
Dareon Faircloth led the way with a championship double, capturing gold in the men's 60-meter dash with a winning time of 6.81 seconds before returning to claim first place in the men's 200-meter dash in 21.20 seconds. The 200-meter performance marked a personal record, a new HBCU No. 13, and a Division II No. 10 time.
On the women's side,
Sidney Richardson turned in a breakout performance in the 60-meter dash, placing third with a personal-best time of 7.64 seconds, setting a new HBCU No. 42 and Division II No. 57 mark.
Hurdles / Combined Events
In the men's 60-meter hurdles, Tavon Williams placed fourth with a time of 8.45 seconds, establishing a personal record and a new HBCU No. 61 time.
In combined events action,
Nathan Jacobs earned a third-place finish in the men's heptathlon 1000 meters, crossing the line in 2:54.71.
Jumps
The Bulldogs were well represented in the high jump as
Princewil Osahon placed fourth after clearing 1.93 meters, setting a personal record and a new HBCU No. 57 mark. Teammate
Tareik Jackson also cleared 1.93 meters, finishing sixth in the event.
In the women's triple jump,
Rebecca Bogy posted a sixth-place finish with a season-best mark of 11.62 meters, ranking HBCU No. 32 and Division II No. 48, while Anija Medley added a ninth-place finish at 11.22 meters.
Throws
In the throwing events,
Jaeden Warner delivered a podium performance in the men's shot put, placing third with a throw of 15.45 meters.
