BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State University men's cross country team edged Virginia Union at the Bowie State Classic on Tuesday afternoon. Both teams scored 28 points, but the Bulldogs claimed first factoring in sixth place finishers to break the tie.
FINAL RESULTS
Freshman Yeabsera Teferra (Upper Marlboro, Md.) topped the Bowie State men in third place among 17 participants with a time of 33:28.5 on the 8k course. Junior
Kevin Glasper (Laurel, Md.) finished fifth with a time of 34:57.3, while senior
Markese Miller placed seventh in 35:25.3.
Sophomore
Ikpefua Olumese (36:12.2) and freshman
Demetrius Jones (36:29) finished eighth and ninth overall, while freshman
Jeremiah Wallace (38:28.1) placed 11th, respectively to round out Bowie State's participants.
The Panthers of Virginia Union claimed the top two spots as Enos Rotich and Charles Whitehead-Tilery cross the finish line with times of 31:47.10 and 32:31.20 respectively.
The Bulldogs men's cross country team will close out the regular season on Thursday (October 25) at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championships in Salem, Virginia.
