ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Bowie State senior
Bashir Lamptey shined at the Navy Winter Invitational with two top five finishes in season opener on December 1.

Lamptey (Landover, Md.) placed fourth out of 27 participants in Men 60 Meter Dash with the time of 6.93, while freshman
Davon Carroll (7.04) finished 12th. Sophomores
Xavier Williams (7.20) and Xavier Thomas (7:30) both finished in top 20. Lamptey was also impressive in Men 60 Meter Hurdles with another top 4 finish in 8.27, while junior Frank Bailey (8.67) placed seventh.
Newcomer,
Davon Carroll (21.96) placed 7 seventh in Men 200 Meter Dash, while Lamptey (23.00) and freshman
Demontay Snowden finished 13th and 18 out of 23 contestants. Senior
Robert Thomas (51.05), Snowden (52.40) and senior O'Shai Powers (53.61) placed 17th, 19th and 20th, respectively in Men 400 Meter Dash.
Junior
Ikpefua Olumese made a mark in Men 800 Meter Run placing sixth with the time of 2:00.83, while freshman Yeabsera Teferra (2:07.49) finished 11th. Fellow newcomers
Demetrius Jones (3:09.68) and Benvindo Chicha (3:15.41) and sophomore
Koby Willis (3:33.67) finished 12th, 13th and 14, respectively in Men 1k Meter Run. Juniors
Kevin Glasper (5:10.80) and
Juantre Rush (5:16.57) finished 15th and 16th in Men 1 Mile run.
Freshman Isaiah Coe placed seventh in Men High Jump with 1.80M score, while Chicha Benvindo (6.09) finished 8th in Men Long Jump. Coe (6.00) and sophomore Kobe Willis (5.04) placed 9th and 13th.
Coe and Benvindo finished 7th and 8th in Men Triple Jump with 12.42M and 12.33M.
Bowie State will return to action on Saturday (December 8) at Penn State.
