PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - On Saturday (Dec. 7), the University of Maryland Eastern Shore track & field team hosted the Cappy Anderson Invitational featuring Bowie State, Howard, Delaware State, the University of the District of Columbia, Salisbury. The Bulldogs finished fifth with 36 points in total.

Junior Stedman was impressive in the 200 meter run and placed second with a time of 22.98, while freshman Donte Busey (23.52) and Zion Tyler (24.07) finished seventh and 13th. Sophomore Larry Colbert placed in top 15 with a time of 24.34.

In the 400 meter run, freshman Lamar Ted placed ninth in 53.59, while Demontay Snowden (53.35), Donte Busey (53.66) and Larry Colbert (54.61) finished 10th, 12th and 15th, respectively.

Freshman Shane Massey placed second in 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.32, while teammate Davon Cousar finished eighth in 2:08.65. Freshman Frederick Eiland II placed 13th in one mile run with 4:49.72 time, while fellow freshman Miles Johnson placed eighth in 500 meter run in 1:17.61.

In 4x4 relay, team A (Snowden, Sykes, Massey, Busey) placed fifth with a time of 3:34.51, while team C (Cook, Dyson, Bailey) finished in 12th place in 3:54.77. Sophomore Joshua Carter was able to collect fifth place in Pole Vault with a score of 3.13m, while fellow sophomore Derrick Corley placed sixth in Long Jump with 6.35m score.

Junior Kenny Fuentez placed sixth in Shot Put with 13.11 score while freshman Mavado Gray (11.51m) and junior Francis Orlando (11.36m) finished 12th and 13th, respectively. Francis was also able to compete in Weight Throw and placed seventh with 12.61m.

Bowie State will break for Christmas before returning to competition Saturday (January 6) at George Mason University.
