VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Bowie State men's indoor track and field team had a strong showing at the KMS Opener Sunday highlighted by junior Shane Massey (Lewes, DE) winning the men's 800-meter race with a time of 2:01.57 at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.

SPRINTS/HURDLES:
· Freshman Caleb Rose (Morningside, MD) finished ninth overall in the 600-meter race with a time of 1:32.49.
· Freshman Creedence Jackson (Lanham, MD) placed seventh overall in the 800-meter race (2:13.17).
· Junior Frederick Eiland, Jr. (Columbia, MD) earned sixth overall in the mile run with a finishing time of 4:52.81.
· In the 3000 meter finals, sophomore Eric Thomas-Talley (Richmond, VA) bagged a seventh place finish (9:47.65).
· A foursome of Bulldogs captured fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:40.39.
JUMPS:
· Senior Joshua Carter (Bowie, MD) took home a silver medal in the pole vault with a marking of 3.50m.
· In his debut in the long jump, Dyshawn Payne (Baltimore, MD) placed fifth with a mark of 5.82m.
THROWS:
· Sophomore Movado Gray (Parkdale, MD) earned bronze in the shot put with a throw of 13.07m.
UP NEXT: The Bulldogs will travel to Staten Island, NY to compete in the Seahawk Shootout hosted by Wagner College on Friday, Dec. 10.
