BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's and women's cross-country will compete in the Roanoke XC Invitational Friday, Oct. 14 in Salem, Va. The meet, hosted by Roanoke College and will take place at Greenhill Park with the men's 8K race slated for 5 p.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 5:50 p.m.

Bowie State hosted its XC Classic on Tuesday (Oct. 11) at Jericho Park where the Bulldogs men's team placed third overall with a total of 53 points led by freshman
Roosevelt Elivert (Dunkirk, MD) at 25:23.40 for sixth overall while junior
Shane Massey (Lewes, DE) tabbed seventh at 25:55.50. Junior Frederick Eiland, II (Columbia, MD) placed ninth overall with a time of 26:32.70 to round out the Bowie State's top-10 finishes.
As for the women's squad, freshman standout
Destiny Lewis (Huntingtown, MD) recorded her first career top-3 finish with a time of 21:35.80 in the 5k race, which set a new personal best.
Upcoming Schedule
The Bowie State women's team will compete in the Penn State Brandywine Invitational on Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. The BSU men's squad will not see action again until the CIAA Championship on Oct. 27 in Salem, Va.
