BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Lynchburg, Va. for the Liberty Opener at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex on the campus of Liberty University.

The meet is scheduled to begin with the men's field events followed by the women on Saturday (2/5) at 8 a.m., continuing with the running events slated for 10 a.m.
Last Time Out
The Bowie State Bulldogs competed in the Vince Brown Invitational last weekend in Newport News, Va., posting a total of five top-10 finishes from both the men's and women's side.
Junior Shane Massey (Lewes, DE) had a great overall performance for the Bulldogs. Massey placed fourth in the 400m with the time of 51.63 and fifth in the 200m with a time of 23.24. Additionally, senior Joshua Carter (Bowie, MD) placed second overall in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50m. Lastly, the men's distance medley race team featuring freshman Jahmoy Bartley (Pasadena, MD), Massey and sophomore Eric Thomas-Talley (Richmond, VA) took first place in the event with the time of 11:11:02.
Meanwhile on the women's side, freshman Destiny Ehirim (Lanham, MD) set a personal best in 60m hurdles with a time of 9.49 for fifth place.

The Bulldogs will compete in the CIAA championship in Winston-Salem, NC at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday, Feb. 12 through Monday, Feb. 14.
