CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bowie State track and field senior Yassine Kamara has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday. This makes the third-consecutive CIAA weekly honor for Kamara over the last five weeks and two weeks in a row.

Kamara showed up and set the tone at the Marlin Invitational held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Her dominating performance included a first place in the women's shot put with a personal best throw of 14.62 meters, earning a No. 12 ranking in Division II. The Bulldogs will rest this week as they are preparing to travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to compete in the CIAA Indoor Championship on Sunday, Feb. 16 though Monday, Feb 17 at the JDL Fast Track.
