BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams will begin their outdoor season on Friday, Mar. 18 when the Bulldogs travel to Myrtle Beach, SC to compete Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Shamrock Invitational is a two-day event that will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. The meet is scheduled to kick off with the men's and women's hammer throw at 10 am. On Friday followed by the track events at 11 a.m. with the men's and women's open mile run. On Saturday, field events will start at 9:30 a.m. (men's discus) and the track events (3000m run) at 10 a.m.
The Bulldogs ended their 2021-22 indoor season with a third place finish on the men's side and a ninth place finish in CIAA Championships that took place at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, NC. The Bulldogs combined for 16 top-10 finishes from both then men's and women's side.
Senior
Joshua Carter (Bowie, MD) made the biggest splash for the Bulldogs at championships, capturing a gold medal in the pole vault, setting a new personal best with a mark of 3.45m. In terms of team placement, the men's distance medley team took home silver with a time of 11:30.16.
Meanwhile on the women's side, a highlight for the Bulldogs was the distance medley team who placed sixth posting a time of 16:48.74.
