Bowie State Men's Basketball Hosts Durant Family Foundation Prince George's County Education Game

Durant Family Foundation PG County Education game to be played on Monday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m.

BOWIE, MD --- The Bowie State men's basketball team will host its inaugural Durant Family Foundation Prince George's County Education Day Game on Monday, Dec. 18. A total of 16 elementary schools from the Prince George's County Public Schools and one from Anne Arundel County Public Schools will attend the game for a special 11 a.m. tip-off inside A.C. Jordan Arena. The Bulldogs will host a single conference game against Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls.

Admission is free.

Bowie State (4-7, 0-3 CIAA) hopes to snap a three-game losing skid on Monday when the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith come to town. The Bulldogs suffered a 71-67 loss to Livingstone Saturday after holding a lead majority of the contest but in the second half, BSU got outscored 44-33 by the Blue Bears. Kyree Freeman-Davis finished with 21 points while Caleb Johnson and Deven Richmond chipped in 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Johnson C. Smith 
The Golden Bulls come to Bowie with winning momentum, defeating Virginia Union on the road, 68-60 on Saturday. JCSU owns a 6-3 overall record and 1-1 mark in the CIAA. As a team, the Golden Bulls average 86.1 points per game (1st in the CIAA) while holding it opponents to 79.4 points. The team's top scorer is Avery Huggins with 18.9 points per game (4th in CIAA). Additionally, four other Golden Bulls are averaging double digits in scoring while defensively, JCSU Huggins is the team's leading rebounder at 5.6 rebounds per outing.

Bowie State will take a pause in conference action and finish out the non-conference schedule with tilts at Frostburg State (Dec. 30) and Fairmont State (Dec. 31) at 3 p.m. and 2 p.m.
