BOWIE, MD ---Â The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams will begin its indoor slate at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday, Dec. 8 hosted by Wagner College at the Ocean Breeze Complex beginning at 12 noon. This will be the lone meet in December for Bowie State as the Bulldogs will not compete again until Jan. 7 at the VCU Rams Invitational.

Bowie State will have a total of seven meets for the 2023-24 indoor season including the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championship on Feb. 11-12 in Winston-Salem, N.C.Â

The Bulldog Men
The men's team welcomes 11 true freshman that will mix well with key returners in thrower
Movado Gray and distance runners
Shane Massey and
Eric Thomas-Talley. During the 2023 the CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Thomas-Talley highlighted the Bulldogs with a second-place finish in the 5000m run, completing the 25-lap race in 16:46.45. The Bulldogs finished seventh in the CIAA Indoor Championship a season ago.

The Bulldog Women
As for the women's team, BSU welcomes eight newcomers to the 2023-24 roster. Additionally, the Bulldogs have 11 returners from last year's season led by Yasssine Kamara who took a spot on the podium, grabbing a bronze medal in the shot put. She threw a mark of 11.61m that was worth six of the Bulldogs nine total points, collectively. The Bulldogs will begin the quest to improve upon last year's ninth place finish in the CIAA Championship.
