WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Bowie State women's track and field team finished ninth at the 2023 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship Monday afternoon at the JDL Fast Track. Fayetteville State won its third-straight conference title with 185 points, followed by Virginia State (92) and Winston-Salem State (68) to wrap up the top-3 team finishes.
BSU finished with just nine points during the two-day event.

Notable Highlights
- Destiny Lewis recorded a time of 12:37.19 for 13th overall in the 3000m race.
- The Bulldogs 4x400m relay team made up of Catherine Enwereji, Agi Mboob, Heaven Jenkins and Zahra Graham posted a combined time of 4:18.83 for eighth place.
- The distance medley squad grabbed seventh (14:43.85) featuring Enwereji, Graham, Jenkins and Lewis.
- Yassine Kamara took a spot on the podium, grabbing a bronze medal in the shot put. She threw a mark of 11.61m that was worth six of the Bulldogs nine total points, collectively.
- Additionally, Jamesia Poindexter placed 11th in the shot put, adding a throwing mark of 9.92m, followed by Jazmyn McGrit who tossed up a mark of 9.80m for 13th, respectively.
