CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Bowie State thrower Yassine Kamara has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

The freshman dominated in every event she competed in on Saturday at the Bison Classic hosted by both Gallaudet and Howard. Kamara threw a mark of 39.40m in the discus to take home first place while also grabbing a third place finish in the shot put with a throwing mark of 11.16m.

This is the second time Kamara has been named the CIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week this season.
