BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State men's and women's track and field team is set to compete in the 2026 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championship from Friday, May 1, through Saturday, May 2, at Rogers Stadium on the campus of Virginia State University in Ettrick, Virginia.

Events are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Friday, with final rounds concluding Saturday.

Teams Competing
Bluefield State, Bowie State, Claflin, Fayetteville State, Johnson C. Smith, Lincoln (Pa.), Livingstone, Virginia State, Virginia Union, and Winston-Salem State.

CIAA Top Performers

• Dareon Faircloth ranks second in the CIAA in the men's 100-meter dash (10.40) and is tied for first in the 200-meter dash (20.95).
• Marlin Newsome, Jr. ranks fifth in the men's 100 (10.47).
• Sidney Richardson is sixth in the women's 100 (12.02).
• The Bowie State men's 4x100 relay ranks third in the CIAA with a season-best 40.65.
• Jaeden Warner ranks second in the shot put (16.11 meters) and third in the discus (50.17).
• Breanna Reid ranks third in the hammer throw (40.20) and fifth in the discus (41.80).
• Isam Banajah ranks third in the hammer throw (43.25).
• Tatiyana Black ranks second in the hammer throw (41.37).

Last Time Out for the Bulldogs
Competing at Penn Relays, the Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams turned in strong relay performances against a nationally competitive field.

The men opened in the College Men's 4x100 Championship of America heats, where Princewil Osahon, Newsome, Jr., Kojo Cunningham, and Jaiden Jarrett posted a time of 41.60. BSU followed with a season-best 1:26.12 in the men's 4x200 relay, as Osahon, Jarrett, Cunningham, and Newsome, Jr. competed in Section Two.

On the women's side, Abigail Mokosso, Anijah Medley, Iyona Brown, and Richardson recorded a time of 47.57 in the College Women's 4x100 Eastern heats before finishing in 51.99. The Bulldogs also competed in the College Women's 4x400 Eastern heats, where Kesare Bakare, Kaniyah Ervin, Maya Awuro, and Richardson crossed the line in 4:03.10.
