BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams return to action this weekend at the Bison Classic, co-hosted by Howard University and Gallaudet University on Saturday, Apr. 11, at Berg Track and Field in Washington, D.C.

CIAA Top Performers
Last Time Out
Bowie State turned in several strong performances at the NSU Invitational, highlighted by Faircloth's first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 20.95. Faircloth also placed third in the 100 meters (10.40), while
Marlin Newsome, Jr. (6th, 10.47) and
Jaiden Jarrett (10th, 10.62) added top-10 finishes.
Sidney Richardson led the women's sprinters with a personal-best 12.21 to finish 10th in the 100 meters.
The men's 4x100 relay team of Jarrett, Faircloth,
Kojo Cunningham and Newsome, Jr. finished fourth in 41.95, while the 4x400 relay squad of Cunningham,
Chase Pankey,
Tavon Williams and
Dominic Boston also placed fourth (3:31.26). On the women's side, the 4x400 relay team of
Kaniyah Ervin,
Emetem Bezezuh,
Anijah Medley and
Kesare Bakare recorded a runner-up finish in 4:00.60.
Williams added a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best 15.19, while Bezezuh clocked a personal-best 2:22.89 to place seventh in the 800 meters.
In the field events, Warner placed third in the shot put (15.42m) and sixth in the discus (43.89m).
Jazmyne McGirt led the women with a runner-up finish in the shot put (12.22m), while Black added third-place finishes in both the discus (38.41m) and hammer throw (41.37m).

The Bulldogs will return to action next week at the Virginia Challenge, hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., from Friday, Apr. 17 through Saturday, Apr. 18.
