PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams competed against some of the nation's top collegiate programs this weekend at the prestigious Penn Relays, highlighted by strong relay performances on both the men's and women's sides.
The Bowie State men opened competition in the College Men's 4x100 Championship of America heats, where the quartet of
Princewil Osahon,
Marlin Newsome, Jr.,
Kojo Cunningham and
Jaiden Jarrett posted a time of 41.60.
The Bulldogs followed with an impressive showing in the men's 4x200 relay as Osahon, Jarrett, Cunningham and Newsome Jr. combined to clock a season-best 1:26.12 in Section Two competition.
On the women's side, BSU delivered a strong effort in the College Women's 4x100 Eastern heats.
Abigail Mokosso,
Anijah Medley,
Iyona Brown and
Sidney Richardson recorded a time of 47.57 before returning to finish the event in 51.99.
The Bulldogs also competed in the College Women's 4x400 Eastern heats, where
Kesare Bakare,
Kaniyah Ervin,
Maya Awuro and Bakare crossed the line in 4:03.10.
