BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State track and field team will travel to Washington, D.C. to compete in teh Bison Classic hosted by both Gallaudet and Howard on Saturday, Apr. 8 at the Thomas O. Berg Track on the campus of Gallaudet.

Meet: Bison Classic

Field events will start the Bison Classic at 9:30 a.m. with the men's and women's javelin and shot put. Jumping events will occur at 10 a.m. (men's and women's long jump), followed by running events will start at 11 a.m. featuring the women's and men's10,000m race.

Last Time Out
The Bulldogs are coming off three first place finishes at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by St. Mary's last weekend in St. Mary's City, MD. On women's side, freshman Yassine Kamara won the discus and freshman Jamesia Poindexter came out on top in the hammer throw to headline the day for Bowie State track and field. Kamara threw a mark of 36.75m in the discus to take home first place while Poindexter earned a gold medal in the hammer throw after tossing a throw of 36.05m. Additionally, Kamara earned second in the shot put with a throw of 11.22m. Collectively, the Bulldogs accounted for 13 top-5 finishes at the event.

Meanwhile on the Bulldogs men were led by junior Movado Gray won the shot put to headline BSU. He claimed first place with a toss of 12.89m while in the discus, he earned second place (38.37m). Additionally, Bowie State had 11 top-5 finishes.

What's Next
On Saturday, Apr. 15, Bowie State will make a trip to Norfolk, Va. to compete in the Norfolk State Invitational.
