DURHAM, N.C. - Yassine Kamara won the discus throw to highlight the Bowie State women's track and field team at the 2023 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship Saturday afternoon at Durham County Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs placed ninth overall as a team with a total of 19.13 points.
Fayetteville State repeated as conference champions with 171.13 points while Virginia State (89 points) and St. Augustine's (77.13) rounded out the top-3 spots.

HURDLES
RELAYS
- The Bulldogs relay teams captured ninth place finishes in both the 4x100m (49.55) and 4x400m (4:07.06).
JUMPS
- Graham earned an eighth place spot in the high jump at 1.45m.
- In the long jump, Destiny Ehirim placed 16th (4.62m).
THROWS
- Kamara claimed the discus crown with a throw of 42.66m while Jamesia Poindexter placed 14th (25.53m).
- In the javelin, Poindexter and Jazmyn McGirt finished 14th and 15th with throws of 17.22m and 14.99m.
- Kamara also grabbed a fifth place finish in the shot put at 11.45m.
- Additionally, McGirt and Poindexter rounded out the top-10 spots in the shot put at eighth (11.31m) and 10th (10.56m).
