BOWIE, MD -- Bowie State men's basketball resumes Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) action on Thursday night as the Bulldogs look to get back into the win column, visiting the Broncos of Fayetteville State at Felton J. Capel Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET in Fayetteville, N.C., with coverage available on the Broncos Sports Network.

In its non-conference finale on Dec. 31, Bowie State was taken down by Fairmont State on the road, 87-70. Two players scored in double figures led by
Warren Mouganda with 16 points and
Joel Webb with 12 points.
Caleb Johnson leads the team at 11.9 points per game and assists (4.9) which is third best in the league. Webb is second at 9.7 points and paces the Bulldogs with 6.9 rebounds per game which is seventh in the CIAA. The Bulldogs are a team that averages 71.5 points per game (8th in CIAA) while its opponents have averaged 73.9 points (6th in the CIAA).
Bowie State owns one conference win on the year thus far, a 84-71 win over Johnson C. Smith back on Dec. 18. The Bulldogs have suffered losses to Winston-Salem State (76-55), Livingstone (71-67) and Claflin (82-67) for an overall record of 1-3 in the CIAA and 6-8 mark this season.
About Fayetteville State
The Broncos enter 2024 with an 6-7 overall record and 1-2 CIAA mark. FSU closed out the 2023 portion of the schedule with a home tilt against Newberry on Dec. 30, claiming a 67-58 victory inside Capel Arena during non-conference action. The Broncos (6-7) had four players score in double figures, led by Kaleb Coleman, who had 20 points. Fletcher tacked on 12 points and six assists and Tyler Foster chipped in as well with 12 points and nine rebounds. Tairell Fletcher is the team's top scorer with 13.8 points per game - he's eighth overall in the CIAA, followed by Caleb Simmons at 10.1 points, respectively. The Broncos average the lowest in the CIAA this season with 64.7 points per game while its opponents has averaged 65.1 points (1st in the CIAA).
