VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- Freshman Darrien Ocean won the 60-meter dash in a personal-best time of 6.82, one of the three performances that were amongst the top-5 by the Bowie State men's indoor track and field team at the VCU Invitational Sunday.
Final Results
SPRINTS
- Jamir Roberts joined Ocean in the 60m dash with a time of 6.88 for top-5, placing fourth individually.
- Ocean finished 12th in the 200m with a time of 22.76 while Dhani Young tabbed top-15 at 23.30 for 15th overall.
- Quincy Julien ran a time of 37.45 for 10th overall in the 300m while Lloyd Braxton placed 15th (38.17).
- In the 500m, BSU had four runners place top-15 led by Aidan Geron who finished eighth (1:08.83) while Caleb Rose (1:11.59), Tareik Johnson (1:11.99) and Keon Witherspoon (1:13.62) all registered ninth, 10th and 11th, respectively.
- A team of Rose, Geron, Witherspoon and Montague made ninth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:31.35.
- Young, Braxton, James and Julien combined for 10th overall in the 4x400m relay at 3:33.39.
JUMPS
- Corey Anderson scratched a mark of 6.00m in the long jump for 12th overall.
- Koran Pittman grabbed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.38m.
DISTANCE
- Sean Montague placed fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:07.75.
- Justin Alston tabbed ninth overall at 4:58.12 in the mile run and eighth in the 800m run (2:09.93).
