BOWIE, MD -- The defending Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champions Bowie State softball team has announced its 2025 slate of games featuring 14 home games on the beautiful campus of Bowie State University at the BSU Softball Field.
The Bulldogs will play in two tournaments to kick off the season beginning with the HBCU Classic also known as the CIAA/SIAC Conference Challenge, where Bowie State will face Florida Memorial and Miles on Friday, Feb. 14, followed by three games against Tuskegee, Edward Waters and Albany State on Saturday (Feb. 15) before closing out the challenge with a tilt against Kentucky State on Sunday (Feb. 16) in Spartanburg, S.C.
The second tournament will be at Glenville State in Glenville, WV, from Feb. 22-23. BSU will face off against Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan opening day, followed by Charleston (WV) and West Virginia State on the final day.
The home opener for 2025 will feature a doubleheader against Georgian Court on Mar. 1. This will first time the two meet at the BSU Softball Field.
Over a span of nine days, the Bulldogs will travel to Frostburg State (Mar. 8) and Millersville (Mar. 13) while playing host to Shippensburg (Mar. 11), Mansfield (Mar. 15) and Bloomsburg (Mar. 16).
CIAA play will kick off at the CIAA Round-Up on Mar. 21-23 at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex in Raleigh, N.C.
The remaining schedule features road tilts at Hampton (Mar. 25) and Goldey-Beacom (Mar. 30). After traveling to division foe Lincoln (PA) on Apr. 5, Bowie State will close out non-conference play with a twinbill against Chestnut Hill at home on Apr. 14. The final regular season contests will feature road trips to Elizabeth City State (Apr. 25) and Bluefield State (Apr. 27).
The 2025 CIAA Tournament, which will be in Orangeburg, S.C., is set for May 1-3.
Bowie State is coming off a 20-23 season, 11-5 mark in the CIAA that included the programs' second-straight conference championship and NCAA appearance.
