BOWIE, MD -– The Bowie State University Indoor Track & Field team will spend a day in Virginia, taking part in the Liberty Open Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex. This will be the Bulldogs final regular season meet before the conference championships next weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The one-day event will be one of the largest collegiate competitions ever held at the facility, featuring more than 1,300 athletes representing 41 different colleges and universities. The men's weight throw and lower seeded section of women's shot put will get things started at 8 a.m. Running events will begin at 9 a.m. with the men's shuttle hurdles relay. Events are expected to last until approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening.

The Bulldogs men and women combined for a total of 12 personal best and four season best performances at the VMI Invitational last weekend. For the women,
Yassine Kamara led the Bulldogs flock with a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.01m and personal best. There were nine top-25 finishes at the event for women while on the men's side, the Bulldogs turned in three top-10 finishes led by eighth place finish from Corey Anderson in the triple jump (13.59m) which was a personal best.

Kamara
threw a personal best in the women shot put with a mark 13.01m - 42-08.25. She is currently No. 1 on the CIAA performance list.
