CHARLOTTE, N.C. --  Bowie State's Lorenzo Pelham has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, announced on Tuesday. The accolade is the third for Bowie State on the men's side this season.

Pelham showed off his lightning speed at the HBCU Showcase in New York, claiming second place in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 7.98 this past Saturday. His performance set the pace for his teammates as the Bulldogs combined for several top-10 finishes. BSU will compete in the Widener Invitational on Jan. 24-25 in Philadelphia, Pa., hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
