BOWIE, MD --- The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams will be competing this Saturday, Jan. 11 at the VMI Challenge in Lexington, Va. The meet will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with the field events, at noon will be the transition to the track events following the national anthem. For the full meet schedule, click here.

The Bulldogs are coming off some solid performances. Benich Akeh ran a strong 400m, finishing 4th with a time of 50.06, while Dominic Boston and Nathan Jacobs also competed well, taking 9th and 11th in the event. Marlin Newsome, Jr. grabbing 3rd place in the 200m with a 21.84, and 8th in the 60m at 6.88. The relay team ran a respectable 3:26.95 in the 4x400m to finish 9th overall.
In distance, Aidan Geron placed 19th in the 800m with a time of 2:04.78.
In the field events, Robert Silinzy's 6.85m long jump earned him 5th place. Jaden Warner also made an impact, throwing 14.89m to secure 5th place in the shot put.
