BSU turned in its most complete performance of the season Monday night, powering past Shippensburg 83-54 at A.C. Jordan Arena. The Bulldogs' defensive intensity set the tone from the start, producing 16 steals and converting them into 29 fast-break points.
Bowie State jumped out to a 22-11 lead after the first quarter, fueled by early transition baskets from Cobb and steady inside scoring from Sterling. The Bulldogs broke the game open in the second period, outscoring the Raiders 22-7 behind Sterling's hot start, a three-pointer from Smith, and strong rim protection from
Chaniya Taylor. Bowie State led 44-18 at halftime.
The Bulldogs stayed in control after the break.
Hannah Wilkerson buried back-to-back threes, Owusu-Mensah added key free throws, and BSU carried a 67-33 advantage into the fourth. Shippensburg found limited success late, but Bowie State's early dominance sealed the wire-to-wire win.
Jai'den Anderson provided a lift off the bench with multiple late buckets and seven rebounds, helping the Bulldogs close out the emphatic home victory.
