BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State University men's and women's track and field teams will prepare for the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championship. The championship meet will take place on Sunday, February 16 through Monday, February 17 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Events are set to begin at 9 a.m. on February 16, with the finals rounds concluding on February 17.

The Bulldogs have been making strides throughout the season, with several athletes achieving personal bests and qualifying marks for championship-level competition. BSU delivered a strong performance in their last meet at the Marlin Invitational. Several athletes recorded personal bests, and the team achieved new Division II rankings.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs saw standout performances across multiple events. The 4x400-meter relay team secured a top-three finish, while sprinter Marlin Newsome Jr. clocked a personal-best time in the 200-meter dash. Middle-distance runner Dominic Boston recorded a season-best performance in the 400-meter run, and jumper Robert Silinzy placed in the top ten in the long jump. Thrower Jaeden Warner also placed in the top three in shot put.
For the women's team, senior Yassine Kamara led the way with a dominant first-place finish in the shot put, earning her a No. 12 ranking in Division II. Sprinter Anijah Medley recorded a personal-best time in the 60-meter dash, while junior Emetem Bezezuh achieved a top 10 finish in the 800-meter run. In the field events, Zaniyah Gavins performed well in the long jump, and Destiny Lewis placed among the top competitors in middle-distance events. Junior Kyera Spriggs also contributed with a solid showing in the high jump.
